F15_x86_64 and GoogleEarth

On two attempts at running Google Earth I have started up the program and with no problem until the screen simply went black. I thought it was the screensaver (albeit premature) so I jiggled the mouse and checked the monitor; but, to no avail. I pressed the power button and rebooted only to see a blinking cursor in the upper left-hand corner after the BIOS screen had passed. I did this twice; but, could not get GRUB started. I put in the boot disk and rescued the system. Then, opened Google Earth and repeated the same vicious cycle. I can open other 3D programs. I burned off some steam with UrbanTerror after the Google Earth issue; but, I wonder why this happened at all. I have resolved to uninstall Google Earth.

Was this an open GL issue?

Why would it just lock up and give me a black screen, requiring me to use the rescue disk?

Thanks,

-D
