Fedora 15.
So the gnome-shell extension cpu temperature is displaying my (not yet overclocked) i5-2500k as running at 62C idle... which is more than a bit high. lm_sensor, however, looks to have it right.
Code:
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +35.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C)
Core 0: +32.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C)
Core 1: +33.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C)
Core 2: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C)
Core 3: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +98.0°C)
I installed the shell extension before running sensors, and started to panic. Then I realized that the cpu temp in the BIOS is 42... and the BIOS temp is usually higher than OS idle temp. Is this a multicore issue? Gnome3? More than likely I did something wrong...
