Re: F15 update failure

Today I also got the same message as the OP with my custom built Wings computer. I tried upgrading from Fedora 13 to Fedora 15 using burned DVD installation disc (shasum was OK). After rebooting I deleted fedora-release-rawhide as advised by someone on this topic and after that I couldn't find Terminal and most of the icons looked like they were empty, so I couldn't do anything anymore with my skills.

Edit: I used the 'replace linux system' with CD-ROM installation disc (yes, I have two installation discs) and didn't try to remove anything. Instead, I simply commanded as mentioned on this topic:

su -
yum update

And Fedora 15 seems to be working for me now.

Re: F15 update failure

Still broken on the 64-bit ISO install.

1) Decide to try Fedora
2) Download the 64-bit ISO
3) Install Fedora, using all default settings
4) Reboot
5) Go to 'Applications->Software Update
6) Click 'Install Updates'
7) "could not add package update for fedora-release-rawhide-15-3(noarch)updates: fedora-release-rawhide-15"-3.noarch"

That's a well known bug on the Common Fedora 15 list

see for how to resolve at bullet 7.7:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/C...15-3.noarch.22

In general, when you install a Fedora and have a problem, try going to the "Common Problem" page at:
