CompactFlash as main drive

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone had experience with using CF cards as boot drive for fedora 15.

I currently use a 1.8 inch, extremely slow HDD and plan to swap it for a 32 gig CF card with ZIF/IDE adapter. The problem is, whether there are going to be any major problems with it. The wear leveling shouldn't be an issue, but TRIM support may be. With 32 gigs it would be easy to hit max capacity and by then, the performance, without trim support probably will hit rock bottom as on older SSDs.

Maybe someone had some previous experience with those cards used as a OS boot drive and could share the performance results and any issues encountered.

Thanks
