plasma's applauncher launches apps two times

I'm using the classic menu style in the KDE spins of Fedora 14 and Fedora 15. I created a sub-menu for some frequently used apps, including Yumex.

When I start Yumex from this sub-menu, I get two instances of the app; the window headings are "Yumex" and "Yumex <2>." And there are two windows asking for my password. Happens in both releases (F14 and F15).

However, when I start Yumex from the main menu going through System > Yum Extender, I get only one instance of Yumex.

I created the entry in the sub-menu via the KDE Menu Editor. I simply copied the entry from the System sub-menu. The command for each entry is exactly the same: /usr/bin/yumex.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Re: plasma's applauncher launches apps two times

Well, guess I'll bump this. Today, in Fedora 15 KDE, from the sub-menu I created, looks like any app that I open up gets two instances of it. So I guess it has nothing to do with Yumex -- maybe it's a bug or something in the application launcher when I right-click on the desktop.

If I start apps from the same sub-menu using the application launcher menu on the panel, this problem doesn't occur. It's only when I start them from the application launcher that comes up when I right-click on the desktop.

I haven't seen this happening so far in other distros where I'm using KDE4.

I'm not sure what other info to provide here, or what to look for. Any ideas? Anyone seeing some similar behavior?

Found the bug report relating to this issue. See the following, starting down at comment #8:

So, there's a patch, "get rid of duplicate connect." Is this something that will get fixed soon in Fedora, via updates?
