At random intervals, sometimes every few seconds, sometimes just once an hour, when I type the characters stop appearing and the keyboard is stuck. Trackpad is stuck also.
Less than 1/2 the time, shortly thereafter I'm abruptly logged out and lose everything I'm working on. I'm not merely switched to the login screen, my login environment has died, like X itself has imploded.
A search reveals possibly a very long standing problem with bcm5974 errors. The post near the end here by philcolbourn June 22nd, 2011, 06:14 AM describes the problem as being the built-in keyboard and trackpad share the same USB port/hub and the bcm

Anyway, this Macbook Pro 4,1 is completely unusable at the moment and have no idea how to make it usable. Is there any point filing a bug in the redhat bugzilla?
