[SOLVED] Xorg Crash on F15 after installing extension applet for GNOME 3

Hello,

Xorg keeps crashing after I added (and removed) the gnome-shell system-monitor-applet.

Whenever I boot into Fedora and reach the stage where the Greeting screen should appear I see the cursor, after a few moments the screen flashes 4 times and then it shows nothing.
Luckily I can still switch to a vty.

My Xorg log says it can find a screen, but no useful configuration. Log: http://fpaste.org/178E/

I tried to reconfigure Xorg, but it fails due to the previously mentioned error.

What can I do?

This also happens after booting either the F14 and F15 kernel. Can you please give me some pointer of how to debug this problem?

I could fix the problem by recompiling the Glib schemas as root. I think my problem was that I compiled them with sudo, and my bash umask was set to something non-default, so I didn't have access to the schemas.

i'm new to linux and fedora so couldnot sort out with above mention solution..

1) Switch to a tty (Hold ALT + CTL + F2). You will see a bash prompt.
2) Login
3) Type

sudo -i

and insert your root password
4) Type

glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas

5) Type

killall gnome-shell

to restart gnome
6) It should work now.
