Thank you for the input, but re booting was the first thing I tried. And by now I have gone back and forth with the livecd and shut the whole mess down several times.

OK there it is. My copy paste job rammed it all together, so I had to manually format it.
So might not be perfect...
Anyway, this any help?
You had said earlier about wireless, do not need that. Just want to get the ethernet going again. So if there is another way to do that??
