Fallback mode question

My computer cannot handle Gnome shell and so it goes into fallback mode.

My question is: Will there be some panel applets in this mode?

I ask this because I tried the livecd, and when in fallback mode, it did not allow me to right click the panels and add applets. I had read on the internet that fallback mode would allow you to have a limited selection of applets, yet I cannot seem to access them at all. Is this something that wasn't included in the Beta? Will it be in the final version? I would at least like to have an applet for launching scripts on the panel.

Re: Fallback mode question

I could be wrong but I do not think so. I understand that Corba has finally been removed and as far as I recall applets used Corba.

Re: Fallback mode question

Well I asked because I saw on this site:
http://nicubunu.blogspot.com/2011/03...skippable.html

That he was able to add panel applets as seen here:

Re: Fallback mode question

In fallback mode you can add applets to the panels by pressing the ALT-key and right clicking on the panel at the same time.

Re: Fallback mode question

See Vincent Untz’s excellent post on fallback mode and what and what is not supported: http://www.vuntz.net/journal/post/20...ve-gnome-panel!
Applets that have been ported from Bonobo (Corba) to DBus will work.

Re: Fallback mode question

since I tried Fedora 15 with Gnome 3, now it makes me to swap my desktop to KDE 4.6. Im not very happy about Gnome 3....
