Audacious-2.4.3 in F14 cannot play monkey audio APE

Whereas former 2.4.0 can. I just find that audacious says it cannot decode *.ape after upgrade from repository. Here are what I installed relates to audacious and its plug-ins,

[jzhai@jzhai-t400 ~]$ rpm -qa| grep audacious
audacious-libs-2.4.3-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugin-fc-debuginfo-0.5.1-4.fc14.1.i686
audacious-plugins-debuginfo-2.4.3-1.fc14.pl1.i686
audacious-plugins-jack-2.4.3-1.fc14.pl1.i686
audacious-2.4.3-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugin-fc-0.5.1-4.fc14.1.i686
audacious-devel-2.4.3-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugins-freeworld-aac-2.4.0-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugins-2.4.3-1.fc14.pl1.i686
audacious-debuginfo-2.4.3-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugins-amidi-2.4.3-1.fc14.pl1.i686
audacious-plugins-freeworld-mp3-2.4.0-1.fc14.i686
audacious-plugins-sid-2.4.3-1.fc14.pl1.i686

What wrong? Anybody meets similar problem?

By using the forum Search feature you can find the recent threads about this, albeit related to MP3 and other -freeworld plugins.

What a useless post mschwendt!!
Can't you post a link ?

There is no thread on audacious + ape, i can confirm the bug is still valid with audacious 2.4.4

Well, you haven't submitted a bug report at Fedora or RPM Fusion yet.

When I posted the previous reply, there was a major incompatibility between Audacious (Fedora's packages) and 3rd party plugins, which made it impossible to play .mp3, .ape and other formats. My comment was accurate.

If you have a different problem with .ape files and audacious-plugins-freeworld-ffaudio is installed already, please submit a bug report at bugzilla.rpmfusion.org

Re: Audacious-2.4.3 in F14 cannot play monkey audio APE

It could be beneficial to give more details about an example file, e.g. the output of "file SOMEFILE.ape" or to attach such a file, because here playback works with .ape:

$ file sh3.ape
sh3.ape: Monkey's Audio compressed format version 3970 with normal compression, stereo, sample rate 44100

This one does not work :

Code:
[david@H20 Tantra Drums (1998)]$ file 01-Kublai\ Tec.ape
01-Kublai Tec.ape: Audio file with ID3 version 2.3.0, contains: Monkey's Audio compressed format version 3990 with high compression, stereo, sample rate 44100

---------- Post added at 04:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:32 PM ----------

I tried attaching the file, but there file size limit on the bugzilla is 1 MB.

what other information do you need ?

It could be a bug in Audacious itself, I submitted a bug report there too :

http://jira.atheme.org/browse/AUDPLUG-345

Re: Audacious-2.4.3 in F14 cannot play monkey audio APE

I'm not the maintainer of audacious-plugins-freeworld. I just thought you could do some basic tests and provide/attach details at rpmfusion. Such as
- whether the problem is reproducible with a new user account or after deleting $HOME/.config/audacious/?
- the output of "audacious -V 01-Kublai\ Tec.ape"
