Hi
I am brand new to Fedora & Fedora Forum and want to say hello!
I installed Fedora14 yesterday as dualboot on Vista PC and took this step as I had been using Ubuntu10.04 (dualboot/Vista also) but it had crashed & refused to restart! (problems with both Wubi & USB installs & I could not install 10.10 on this computer!).
I am mainly a Windows (Vista currently) user but in Nov2010 I decided to try Linux on my son's old PC (he got a new laptop Windows7-lucky guy!?) & I added Ubuntu10.04 to his old PC. I partly enjoyed this but partly did not as it crashed several times - & I have lost time & data.
So I want to try to continue with Linux & am trying Fedora (advertised on fedoraproject.org as a stable OS which is what I want/need!).
Now it looks like I have to relearn somethings (yum instead of apt?! etc etc)! I will look around for resources for learning Fedora Linux & any help is greatly appreciated. I will try & help others here also though I am only an amateur basic programmer (interest in many languages C/C++/Java/Ruby/Perl/Python + libraries Gtk+ etc etc and an amateur webdesignerresponsible for several websites).
I look forward to learning & having fun with Fedora and with the Forum.
