Sandy Bridge video.

Hellow.
I am installed FC14 on my PC with intel Sandy Bridge CPU.
But a have very bad video and low resolution.
When fc14 will supoprt whis video or where i can download good driver?

I was thinking that Intel had pretty much gotten video support included for them, at least that's what they were saying a month ago.

I believe someone else on here had to get the F15 kernel to get good support though.

I just hope you don't have much problem with the big problem that Intel announced for their Sandy Bridge chipsets, though. They issued a major recall on them.

Sandy bridge is brand new - January. F14 was being locked down last Summer. Of course F14 doesn't support the new features of Sandy Bridge.

Yes Intel provided support for SB FOSS, but just recently, you need;
Linux 2.6.37, Mesa 7.10, and the xf86-video-intel 2.14 DDX
Maybe this is in Koji (the Fedora ferment). I dunno.

The recall was just announced I believe yesterday. I ran across it while I was looking for something totally unrelated and happened to remember it when this thread popped up

I used FC12. Then bought SB i saw what it haven't required packages, then installed FC14.
On Koji i see than new build for FC15.

Is it good idea to wait new builds of xorg-x11-drv-intel and others for FC14 or it is better to install FC15?

you can also install F15 xorg-, mesapackages and kernel on F14.

yum update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel mesa* xorg*

I guess F14 packages will not offer any Sandy bridge graphics support. If the update of above packages makes things worse, you can probably use 'yum downgrade kernel mesa* xorg*'.

I tried to use rawhide, but X server didn't start.
I think it is better to wait FC15 release.
