Places. Connect to server ...

I connect but every time I reboot my connection is gone. Is there a way to keep the connection mounted there on my desktop?

Yes
You can setup your server to export a filesystem, then set up the client to mount it at boot time.

See some instructions for setting up nfs. From memory I think firewing1 did a good how to on this forum
