kpackagekit does not prompt for password during remote install

I installed Fedora 14 few days back and started connecting to it using a NX client. Today, When I launch kpackagekit and install some software, it fails saying "Failed to authenticate". I remember that it used to ask for the password before. Somehow it seems to have stopped doing that.

I searched for this problem and could find these bugs:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573499
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=468871

They seem to imply that remote installation may have issues. How do I resolve this problem. Note that I am able to use kpackagekit properly when I am logged in directly (not remote). This time it prompts for the password and the installation goes through fine.
