are they preventing your system from booting?

here is an explanation of them, which the messages are new to the 2.6.35 kernels...

Re: Unable to locate IOAPIC for GSI ???

No, these IOAPIC errors do not prevent me from booting.
However, I'm not feeling that comfortable when my system welcomes me with a list of errors.

Can this affect the functioning of my video card? I do have a huge problem when I turn on the "Desktop Effects".

no, this shouldn't affect your video card.

These are just warning telling you it cant override something because it doesn't exist. The outcome is the same. If you had IOAPICS, then ACPI would override them. Since you don't have them, then ACPI doesn't need to override them and can do it's thing normally.

    Thank you for the explanation!

I shall open a new thread for the video card issue.

Re: Unable to locate IOAPIC for GSI ???

I get the same or similar error on my ThinkPad T42 with F14. Although I don't notice any problem with functionality, it seems there should be a way to prevent this error message on boot...
