Screensaver problem on Fujitsu amilo laptop - won't turn off

Hello,

I have a problem with the screensaver. I turned it off, all options for power manager are set to never, but my laptop still goes to black screen, as screensaver after around 5 - 10 minutes. This happens, while doing anything, like watching movies, talking on skype, browsing etc. It's really annoying.

I even took out power management from the startup applications. I don't know what else to try.
Do you have any ideas? This is not happening on my other laptop, a mivvy l310.

I have FC13.

Maybe your laptop has some sort of hardware powermanagement enabled? Did you check the BIOS for any related options?

I will check it, but I doubt this is the problem, since I haven't changed anything in BIOS and also on FC11 and FC12 I did not had this problem. This appeared immediately after I installed FC13.

LE: I checked, there's nothing in BIOS with power management options.

I even uninstalled the screensaver application and it still goes into screensaver mode, as black screen. I removed 2 applications for screennsaver, one general screensaver and the other one was gnome screensaver. Any one has anymore ideas? It's a really annoying problem, talking with skype and all is black or watching a movie and the same thing happens

Occasionally, my EeePC goes into "hibernate" mode thus presenting a blank screen instead of my screensaver which functions as a clock. (I use the EeePC as an alarm clock and this situation is not desirable!)

What I do is always boot with the power cord connected.

It seems to me that the blank screen is a power-saving feature when the O/S thinks that it is running on battery power but I'm not sure what the correct behavior should be.

This is the best answer I have.

BTW, still using upower-0.9.5-1.fc13.i686 but will be upgrading to F14 soon.
