I have VNC installed and configured on my system (on Fedora core 3). It works as it should, but I need to manually start it after bootup. This is a problem as I'm trying to make this machine headless.
I have tried the following:
Ticking the service in the services manager GUI interface. I understand this is pointless as it is not a Xinetd process?
Using the command "/sbin/chkconfig --level 35 vncserver on" (from memory, but you get the idea).
Adding: "/sbin/service vncserver start" to rc.local.
Chkconfig shows that vncserver should be running in levels 3 and 5 and no others. During startup, two failed messages appear stating that vncserver has already started.
My guess is that it is being started, but is then being killed later on. Is there a log that I can check to see if it was killed during startup?
Thanks for any pointers you can give.
