I use KDE, and I just try to run the firewall. Then some error occurred.
I cannot close the up layer window in the beginning which says some thing about GUI configuration
and manual configuration.
Every time I click the 'close' button, it hang there, and Fedora told me if I want to terminate
it and all its windows. It happened even I restarted the computer.

Could you please open a konsole and run system-config-firewall that way, so that any error information is visible.
There could be a bug here to do with a dependency which is not installed.

Is there any body has the similar problem?

As long as the firewall is set to on, it will. I think the default is on but would need someone else to confirm it.
I use KDE but Fedora 12 and it works fine for me.
Thanks,
