Re: Repository configuration for older Fedora releases.

Before I venture down this great path of advice given here will these updates allow me to upgrade out of FC6 which is ultimately what I want to do.

If not then can someone link my in the right direction. I have inherited FC6 and I want out! Whats the easiest way to get up to date?
I will be using SSH exclusively to accomplish this task.

No: save all your important personal data (including $HOME) to a safe place, and wipe FC6 with a fresh, clean install of F12. An in-place upgrade is absurd in your case.

Re: Repository configuration for older Fedora releases.

SSH? You mean yum, don't you? It's considered risky going from one version to the next, I wouldn't want to try. FC3-> FC4 was a problem for me, I learned my lesson. If you want to take each step, here you are. Have fun.

Fedora 9 (Sulphur)

Rpmfusion repos can be found at:
i386
Code:
su
rpm -Uvh http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/rpmfusion/free/fedora/updates/9/i386/rpmfusion-free-release-9-12.noarch.rpm http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/rpmfusion/nonfree/fedora/updates/9/i386/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-9-12.noarch.rpm
x86_64
Code:
su
rpm -Uvh http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/rpmfusion/free/fedora/updates/9/x86_64/rpmfusion-free-release-9-12.noarch.rpm http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/rpmfusion/nonfree/fedora/updates/9/x86_64/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-9-12.noarch.rpm

Nvidia driver can be then installed by:
Code:
su
yum install kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs
reboot
Like said by Glennzo on the first page all updates from Fedora are still working so no other configuration is required.
Code:
yum repolist
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
