Have you tried assigning the shortcut for a different user? If you don't have any other accounts on your computer, just create one.
Well, if it wasn't any update that fixed it on my side, it must have been something else. Besides updates, I also removed all 32 bit packages and some others as well to get some more hard disk space. Probably I was a little too motivated, I also deleted some entries for mime type associations. This resulted in a clean desktop, i.e. no visible icons, and some broken links, like the shortcuts to folders in the 'Places' menu. Before I got that fixed (with the help of a newly created user account), I tried the Super+T shortcut and it worked, but since there were updates as well, I am not sure what fixed it. You may give it a try and locate the config files containing the set shortcuts and rename those files, so that the configs get reset. Probably somebody over here knows, where these shortcuts are stored...
