Please i need proper guidance as to streaming live videos on fedora wether with vlc or kaltura. please is there a documenttation for this or a place for help. i'm sure Fedora support streaming servers.
On F12 i had a running realtime streaming server. I used Darwin streaming server with VLC to get it done. VLC captured live stream, transcoded it and created an SDP (session description protocol) file for DSS which it could stream. It took me some messing around to get it working. You could probably do it in VLC alone but for me there were too many settings which i was unsure of.
But if you only need to access videos from another computer you don't really have to mess around with a streaming server. Just set up a network share and open the files directly with VLC - it will "stream".
