Streaming audio failed after update in Fedora 12?

I listen to streaming audio a lot - until now it's been almost faultless, generally I listen in Movie player or occasionally rhythmbox.

Today I got an update patch telling me to update which I generally do and subsequently any audio streams I've tried to listen to have been problematic: Instead of the stream downloading and opening in Movieplayer as I am used to, I got a very dated looking directory search screen, and a small control panel called XMMS. I couldn't locate the streamed download and so I've not been able to listen in.

Can anyone clue me in on what's happened please? I've uninstalled Xmms but I'm now getting an error saying "No appropriate application found" on Firefox.

TIA
