Hello All,
Very strange, I am trying to load Fedora 12 on a Dell 2550 rack mount server. Every time I try to load it My Install locks at the "welcome to fedora for i386" blue screen. All there are, are some navigation controls below. Also if I do a disk check it says the disk is bad. When I do a ctrl-Alt-F3 it looks like it's hung just past the Loading SELinux Policy. If I do a ctrl-Alt-F2 and then a ctrl-Alt-F3 again I get the following lines after the loading SELinux policy:
error: exec of load_policy failed: Input/output error
error: failed to load policy, disabling SELinux
info: getting ready to spawn shell now
Critical: exec of /bin/sh failed: Input/output error
info: Running anaconda script /usr/bin/anaconda
and that's where it sits until I power it down.
Things I've tried:
Replaced the DVD rom (twice)
Tried loading it wth a CD
Replaced the server all together with another 2550 (exactly the same problem)
Burned 3 different disk in 2 different burners 2 our DVDs and 1 is a CD.
Verified that the disks are, in fact good by placing them in a desktop system. (They are fine)
And that's it. I'm at a loss. These machines have Rage XL chips on them so the Nvidia problem that's I've run into so often isn't an issue. The servers both have perc raid controllers in them but I don't think it's getting that far and the CD rom is just an ide.
Any help would be great
Thanks
Eric

The live version hangs at:
Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!
and my caps lock and scroll lock lights are blinking.
