When does the official repository get updated?!

I was wondering how long it takes from a the release of a program until it is integrated into the updates Fedora repository. For example why aren't Firefox 3.6.3 and Open Office 3.2 there yet? How long does this take on average?

Does anyone know?

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

Those are f13 versions.
Usually new version for a release take about a week to compile into updates-testing and a another week to get to updates.
Fx-3.6.3 is in koji for f13 and f14

Sometime the new version needs to be or is compatible for all releases, like mysql-5.1.45 while others are made to work due to a security issue, like httpd-2.2.15, now in koji.

P.S. There is a big issue about stability so newer versions my become less and less for a release, like Fn-1.

So both Firefox 3.6.3 and Open Office 3.2 will never make it into the Fedora 12 updates repository? Why not?

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

That's correct because they need newer deps packages to run.

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

So why can't those dependencies be installed as well on Fedora 12?

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

Fedora devs are too busy with F13/F14 to care about F12.

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

that's a bit odd as "Fedora often gets the latest software before anybody else." but FF3.6 and OO3.2 have been out for quite a while... I use them everyday at work on my outdated winXP machine!!!

(oh my god, I tripped over this while looking for the official site)

Re: When does the official repository get updated?!

I guess that means OOo-3.2 and Fx-3.6 running in f13 is faster and better than Win Xp.

And f12 is so 10K minutes ago.
