hey there its my first post and my first real linux install so excuse all the nubity...
my system hangs when I type reboot "shutdown 0" or press the on switch or CTRL ALT DEL...
it says system powering of NOW and then nothing ever happens...
obviously the possibilities are so many, but i was wondering if someone could point my in any direction for trouble shooting this... things i've been up to on this machine:
trying to get CounterStrike to work -> giving up on ATI drivers -> putting in NVIDIA -> getting counterstrike to work!!!!
compiling NTFS-reading kernel to backup my data
i'm at my wits end as to fixing this shutdown problem, i got rid of my NTFS kernel and im back on the standard 2.6.8-521 kernel and it still does it.... i guess some process is Fing it up....
