Display MacBook Pro on Samsung television with Fedora

I have a MacBookPro5,1 laptop, and I have installed the 64-bit version of Fedora 12 on it, in addition to the Mac OS X operating system.

When I'm running Mac OS X, I can connect my 720p Samsung television to the computer through its mini DVI port and the computer will go into a mode that will display on the television.

However, when I'm running Fedora and connect the television nothing happens.

What can be done to allow the laptop to display on the television when it is using Fedora?

Try connecting the TV, then log out of the user account, then back in. Thusly re-starting X.

I tried connecting the televisio and then logging out and logging back in. That did not work.

I also tried reboot the system, and that did not work either.

What else might make the system display on the television?
