DRHD: handling fault status reg f0003c80 Kernel panic - not syncing: DMAR hardware

while booting up message reads:

"DRHD: handling fault status reg f0003c80
Kernel panic - not syncing: DMAR hardware is malfunctioning"

at this point the installation process stops entirely.
I'm quite a newbie and not sure where to proceed from here. ahh and This is on an acer aspire 4810T if that matters. Blake

this is similar to this bug
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540082

you could try a fedora 11 live cd see if it's different. Maybe the newer kernel doesn't like your machine

Also, you could try adding
Code:
 intel_iommu = off
option to the kernel boot parameters, to see if this is a regression of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=445553

right after the cd starts running, you are invited to press tab to edit options before booting. Do so.

so i loaded the livecd by adding intel_iommu=off to the kernel boot parameters. and proceeded to download the disk to my harddrive removing my old operating system. Now when attempting to boot without the cd, the same DRHD: handling fault status reg f0003c80 Kernel panic - not syncing: DMAR hardware is malfunctioning" message is stoping me from booting. ..

So, my question is how do i add this command to the hard disk boot in the same way as live cd.

when booting the installed system, press any key just as you see the fedora message.
This will unhide the list of available booting operating systems.

select the fedora install, press "a" on your keyboard. now add the parameters.

After the system boots up, edit the file /boot/grub/grub.conf to make these changes permanent

I use the intel_iommu=off option, but it still does not work...
It avoided the kernel panic, but it stop at hardware detection when starting up installer...

I've had the same problem on my HPdv7 in the grub.conf does the intel_iommu=off go on a line by itself or at the end of a line?
