NetworkManager settings export

I would like to be able to backup my NetworkManager settings, but I don't see a way of doing so. I can find the configuration for my wireless networks and VPNs within gconf-editor, but simply copying the XML files from ~/.gconf/system/networking and copying them back into their proper location once a fresh install has been done does not seem to do the trick.

Is there any other way I can back up my settings? I happen to have a lot of custom routes set up for my work VPN, and I don't really feel like adding them back by hand.
