Smile can't the forum be extended a bit further??

hi all,
I know, this forum is exclusively for fedora-istic purposes,.. but all in all, fedora is a very good linux distro and most of us fedora(or any linux) users are somehow related to programming/web-devel etc... I was wondering if the admins could start an "Educational" (or something like that) section where people with sufficient knowledge on a topic would share the same with all of us...
see, don't flame me if i shouldn't have posted this... it just struck me when i was searching the net for something on "rotation of AVL trees"... I know wikipedia's there for all these things, but then the ease with which you ask a question and get an answer within hours/minutes here is just too lovable

thanks,
yati

Well, there is the Guides and Howtos section.

I'm sorry, I'm not clear on how that is different than what you're suggesting.

In theory, this post should go into the suggestions and feedback section of the social groups part of the forum--I'm going to leave it in the general section for the moment because I suspect I'm missing something from your question.

(Note that that's not a flame, just that I think either you or I, or perhaps both of us, are missing something here.)

hi scottro,
yes the guides/howtos are cool... but we see most of it is like "setting up dual-boot w/ fedora/win" etc.. i would like to see things like "sparse matrices" or "understanding linux kernel code"...and I know you'll let anyone willing to teach these things, add the tuts in the same guides/howtos section... but almost no-one would write something related to such topics as they'd think "this is a fedora forum..." ... so just a "notice" from your side to all that this forum is open for development of better algorithms and the likes or just a tab on the website with something like "learn something" will encourage more write-ups... and i'm really sorry about not posting this in the suggestions section as i thought non-admin users like me might as well say something about this... and "General"'s got the maximum no. of people viewing

thanks,
yati

Posting this in general isn't a problem--not all that many people know about the social groups thing yet.

I'll let other admins see this and answer it--and move it if they feel it's appropriate.
