New to Fedora

But not to Linux!

I've been using Ubuntu very happily for a number of years, as a main OS and then when Win7 came 'round, Ubuntu got kicked to the sidewalk...

Now I'm jumping into Fedora as I've heard great things! Hopefully I manage to sort problems out myself, and won't become too much of a nuisance around here

Well welcome to Fedora Forum then haakuturi! Glad to see that you've joined us! I've been using Fedora since FC1 or 2, can't remember exactly. Loads of fun with this ever evolving OS. I love it. I also like Ubuntu. The new Ubuntu 9.10 is very nice. GRUB2 is certainly interesting. Learning about that as we speak.

I'm sure you won't be a nuisance. The forum is all about questions and help on those questions. Just remember to do a little research first. The answers are here somewhere in the bits and bytes in this virtual notebook we call Fedora Forum.

I'll be dual-booting with Win7

The install for Fedora is *so* different from Ubuntu! I chickened out and cancelled it lol

When I get a bit of time I'll get around to installing Fedora

welcome haakuturi, i dual boot with windows 7 (test version) and fedora 11.I found the two get along famously although, one issue i found is that windows 7 built-in backup utility does not like other partitions.So, i'd have another backup strategy handy if you intend to install fedora 11 along side win7.I use my usb drive it solve the problem instantly.Anyway,good luck...
