Yumex 'working' after every file

With today's updates, I downloaded the updated kernel in a terminal, then pulled up yumex and installed the updated yum-packagekit packages, then selected the rest of the updates.

Between every file it downloads, it comes up with the message 'working!' which really makes the whole thing slower than usual (especially for 64 packages).

Previously, it would just download the files sequentially, then do the transaction check, etc. Is this a bug, or a feature?

If it's a feature, I'll just start using yumex a lot less often...

Umm, read the sticky at the very TOP of the page. Yumex is broken for kernel updates.

Hrrm, actually, I see that if you just go to the forums and click on new posts, you miss that.
Thanks for pointing it out though, I suspect we'll have a few more questions about it.

Hrrm again. I'm not seeing it when I go in the more normal way either, that is, going to forums.

Oh well, maybe it makes me unique.
At any rate, once again, thanks for mentioning it.

AHA! Yay me, I found it. When you go directly to alpha-beta subforum, it's there.

Ok, enough senile mumbling.

I know, that's why, when I saw that there was a new kernel in the updates I did a 'yum update kernel' in a terminal window and used yumex for the rest; after I rebooted with the new kernel.

yeah, it seems like what he's seeing is not related to the kernel issue. I don't know what the bug is, though, I don't use yumex.

When I updated today, it did the same thing but the 'working!!!' between files was much faster so it wasn't much of an issue this time.
