-r driver remove 'driver'
-l list installed drivers
-m write configuration for modprobe
-ma write module alias configuration for all devices
-mi write module install configuration for all devices
-v report version information

where 'devid' is either PCIID or USBID of the form XXXX:XXXX,
as reported by 'lspci -n' or 'lsusb' for the card
You have mail in /var/spool/mail/root

The second one has "Home" in the path. Obviously wrong. But they both have a space between the forward slash and the INF filename. I think you overlooked that.

Hello aweiss

I think you may also be confusing the concept of home. On this machine I have a user 'bbfuller' - not surprisingly.

The location '/home' and '/home/bbfuller' are two completely different places.

Could I suggest that you use the command:

cd /home

to move focus into that area and then:

Code:

ls

That last command will list the files in the /home area. If you don't see the 'net8187se.inf' and 'net8187se.sys' files you are in the wrong place.

Then try:

Code:

cd /home/aweiss

and

Code:

ls

again. When you eventually find yourself in the folder where your inf and sys files are located then you will only need the command:

Code:

ndiswrapper -i net8187se.inf

I see that you are still using a capital 'S' in the file name. Is that really correct? Should it not be as I typed it just above?

what was the problem with the other thread I posted. I used its commands but it was no help The other thread said the firmware was part of the kernel and it DID show up, but it didn't work

So did you do an:

command to see that your file is in that folder?

I see that you have typed the name of the file differently yet again.

This time you have left the 'se' out of it.

You really must be precise in your issuing of commands and your reporting back to us or we are going to struggle to help you.
