So... two days ago I had the unfortunate incident of a disk crash. Recovered most of the files, eveything important is fortunately still alive.
However, I have a few files that give me the "Stale NFS file handle" error on /dev/sda5. Filesystem is ext3.
As a result X won't start because the lockfile has a stale file handle. I'm a commandline noob, so I have problems connecting to my wireless network so I'm writing this from windows. Not sure what to do...
Help? I'm a real noob, but have a rescue partition from which to do an fsck or whatever else it is that I need to do to get those filehandles fixed. Help greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Problem fixed. A simple touch /forcefsck did the trick
