nvidia driver does not work (akmod-nvidia)

Hi I installed F11

I need to install the nvidia driver for my video card nVidia Corporation NV44A [GeForce 6200] (rev a1)

so I installed akmod-nvidia package and reboot the system

the 3D acceleration not working

I thought that I should blacklist the noveau driver, then I did what says on the first page of this topic: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=204752

but the 3D acceleration still not working

I looked the xorg.conf file and it on the driver section said "vesa" instead "nvidia", then I changed "vesa" for "nvidia" and rebooted the system but the graphical system did not start. I should write "vesa" instead "nvidia" again on the xorg.conf file and rebooted the system. The graphical system started but without 3D acceleration.

I was asking in the fedora channel on freenode and said me than probablly is a bug becouse many people have the same problem.

here is the xorg.log file

http://fpaste.org/paste/15039

I had a similar issue. Installing kernel-devel and rebooting fixed it.

Code:
yum install kernel-devel
I believe akmod needs kernel-devel to work properly and it's not installed by default.

Hope that helps!!

Glad I could be of assistance.

Sometimes, simple solutions to problems like this are buried deep inside threads with 100s of posts, making it difficult to find, so it can be helpful to break out problems and solutions into separate, smaller threads.
