Display blank after setting monitor to Acer

I just upgraded to Fedora 10 from Fedora 9. Everything went smoothly, except for the screen, that looked a bit weird (my monitor only showed about ½ the screen). I then changed the monitor settings from "LCD generic" or something like that to Acer AL 1716 (there were three options: E,X and S I think. Tried E, though my monitor has neither letter). Graphics card, an ATI Radeon was correctly detected. After logging out my screen went blank, and now it turns black whenever booting the computer.

So, first I need some advise as how to change that setting back. There is a "rescue cd" at Softpedia http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownl...load-8723.html, though it says "Fedora 8". Can I still use that to enter my system, or is there a rescue CD for Fedora 10 out there? And if I get into the computer using that, any suggestions on what might work?

Thankful for any hint.
