Fedora as a File Server .. give me your advice

We have a Windows 2003 as a file server at work for about 25-30 users.
Can I convert it to Fedora with SAMBA and SWAT without any problem with file name encoding ?
And which file system you advice: Ext3, Ext4, XFS, JFS, ReiserFS, Reiser4 .. etc ?
Can I set a username and password fer every user ?

If I was setting up a fileserver, or webserver...FTP, Cento's is the way to go. Very stable, updates are always tested before release so down time is reduced. Flip side ...Fedora will work just fine also, if you are lucky, without to many tweaks...ROFL

Write back here about what happens...
