partitioning problem

Hi, I have the DVD installer of Fedora 10, i want to dual boot with windows vista...

well i get up to the partitioning part of installation (in anconda) and it asks me how i want to partition it... i wanted to re size my partition and create the default format, so i keyd in 70GB and Okay. then it came up with an error, saying I had bad sector(s)
The error told me to run chkdsk /f /r in windows, then i could run ntfsresize with -b, (in Linux)
well i did all those steps, and shrunk /dev/sda1 to 70gb (/dev/sda2 is my recovery partition) i have a 140 gb hard drive, but can't find the unallocated space anywhere!

when i booted windows, it ran a chksdk, like it should, and in my computer it said that it had been shrunk (because the pie graph showed a capacity of around 70GB)

When i go into windows disk management it says no unallocated space, just one big partition (and a 8gb recovery partition) this is the same with GParted on puppy linux, GParted on fedora 10 (live cd) says there is no drives I can mount or unmount and same error on partition logic... in EASUS partition manager i get told that there is no unallocated space, in the fedora installer there is only /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2...
Does anybody know.. how to install fedora on this partition, or
get rid of the partition and repartition it another way...

when i click on the option to remove all linux partitions and create default format, it errors and says it cannot make another primary partition, then says there is no room for /boot.

and i can not proceed.

thanks for your help.

I barely understand you. Lets puts things easy:

the liveCD detect a hard drive of 140 GB or less?
it detects 70 GB of NTFS and 70 GB of ext2/3/4?

The only thing I could tell you is that you hard disk seem to be broken, if so I recommend to use Flobo hard disk repair under windows or buy another HDD.
