F10:# Error 16: Inconsistent filesystem structure' after startup of Linux

Hi,

I recently installed F10 on a Laptop, and the installation seem to be fine. But then I started the Laptop again and got the following error message:

Code:
Error 16: Inconsistent filesystem structure
I searched this error in the Fedora forum (0 hits) and googled on it, but got no real hint. I read something about pressing 'c' during the grub startup. I realized that I pressed the key 'c' after the Linux startup had begun. And that time the Linux boot worked all the way up, I was able to log in.

My question: Can you get this error sometimes, and you just have to try booting Linux several times? Do you really have to press a key when you start booting Linux (I guess this was most probable just coincidence)? Can I trust my new Linux installation? Is there something wrong with the hard drive?

Any comments appreciated. Please DO NOT merge this thread. This is another thread...

Thanks
Alex

First time I hear about this error.

Maybe you have a hardware problem. Only a guess of course.

Next time you start, press space bar and wait a couple seconds to give some time to disk. Maybe that solve your problem.

Usually, when the fs becomes corrupted, the startup process halt and instruct to yo to run "fsck" for repair it.
