Question about /etc/sysctl.conf

Hi,
In Ubuntu, I could specify a parameter "vm.swappiness=5" which would reduce the swap usage on my computer. Does this work in Fedora? Do I still put it in /etc/sysctl.conf or another place? Thanks for your info.
