Sorry if this is a problem solved elsewhere but I have tried as many options as I understand from other threads and nothing seems to work.
Just installed Fedora 10 on a new build yesterday but have no sound out whatsoever. Have tried playing a CD and internet radio and in both cases the programs are clearly reading the audio (or the visualisations would indicate to me that they are) but no sound comes out of the computer.
There is also no start up sound or any clicking sounds (I am completely new to Fedora from Windows, so I don't know if Fedora has those kind of things).
I have tried putting headphones in all the speaker and headphone ports in turn (and in none) and I get no output at all though either the onboard soundcard of my motherboard or the additional soundcard.
I have tried alsaunmute and a number of other things, but really have little idea what I am doing.
Also, when I go into System Settings - Sound, the output device preference is listed as follows:
PulseAudio
Audigy 1 [SB0090] (rev. 3 serial:0x531102)
HDA NVidia (ALC 662 Analog)
Default
PulseAudio Sound Server
Any ideas of help would be greatly appreciated!
