Install F10 hang on intel 82845G video card
I tried to install Fedora linux 10 on a integrated intel 82845G video card mainboard, it can install FC8/FC9 successfully, but when I fresh install F10 on it, after the first screen I select using a fresh install, then in the second screen I input hostname and clieck next, it hangs, what is the reason? I saw the screen is nastty, only move mouse can get some area refresh.
I am using a DVD iso file to install it, it have the same result with URL install.
thanks ahead.

Ditto here.
No luck. Gets to the second "planet" screen and freezes. Anybody got any step-by-step instructions for a Fedora newbie?

Me too! Here's my Xorg.0.log file.
At least I hope my log file is attached. I've not posted previously.
Installed in text mode. Can access CLI. But as soon as I try anything in gnome, it's power button time.

Sorry, vBulletin attachments are currently busted. Upload files to pastebin.com and post a link here.
As far as the "Install F10 hang on intel 82845G video card " problem: at this point, it should be listed as a feature.

I'm having the same issue installing F10 with the same intel chipset. I was about to try a text install but I see that isn't resolving everything.
After a text install has anyone tried switching between the i810 and intel driver in xorg.conf to see if maybe one is actually working? Never had this problem with version 6 through 9.
Guess I'll stick to v9 for a while...

What should I do with my faithful old computer?
I have 4 flavors of Fedora and 1 Ubuntu running just fine on it. Well, almost; never have been able to get samba working on F9.
Since attachments are broken here's the log file on pastebin:

Saw this exact same error on another Intel video chipset:
Code:
(EE) AIGLX error: Calling driver entry point failed(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
Bug Report filed. Consider piling on as many comments as possible to expedite processing. Search for my username and keywords: intel driver to find the thread. EDIT: Here it is: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=205716.

A temporary solution, one that will at least allow you to use your computer is adding the line "NoAccel".
Section "Device"
...
Driver "intel"
Option "NoAccel"
...
EndSection
The other alternative is to use (force) the latest driver from F9: xorg-x11-drv-i810-x.x.x.fc9.i386
As I said, this will allow you to use your computer but (graphics) performance will be poor. Several bugs have been issued (even since F10 was at the development stage), so I am starting to loose my hopes for a solution.
Safest bet is to move back to F9.

same problem
I had that same problem last week. A second install came up with a different video card number...but it worked.
Other issues, sound card, erratic video, were all solved by F9 reinstall
