On the Gnome Panel there is a "Start Here" button just like in Microsoft Windows but it looks like a hat. Click on it.
Now scroll down to "System Tools" and let that slide out from the menu another gui where you can scroll down to "Terminal". Click on that.
A gui will pop up that looks sort of like an old fashioned dos prompt.
Inside that gui type:
Don't forget that dash after the "su".
When it asks you for the root password type it out and hit the enter key.
You are now the "root" or "super-user" of the computer.
Now type:
this will show you a complete list of all the files in the directory: /root
to remove the files you want type:
When you are done deleting the files you can exit the gui by typing.. "exit" two times.
