Acer 14:1 media card reader door doesn't open

Is there any chance it will work with Fedora? For now, I booted the 10 LiveCD, the media card reader's door doesn't open with hardware and I see no way to open it with software. Same with Mandriva. Is some more software needed or is this the kind of trick that works only with Windows?

Any other comment on Acer Aspire compatibility with Linux?
