How to wakeup from sleep mode when trying to ssh in.

Anyway to configure Fedora to wakeup when I ssh in? My comp. sits idle quite often but a lot of times I want to access remotely.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Then adjust your system preference to never sleep.

Umm, that defeats the purpose of trying to save some energy hence allowing my PC to go to sleep.

There should be a way to deal with this.

i'm not sure of the definative answer to this, but it may depend on the motherboard you have, you'll probably need to be using a network card built into the motherboard for starters.

I once had a computer that would wake up just by pinging it, so i think it may be possible to do what you ask

Today I was thinking about this myself. Search for Wake-on-LAN. I've never done it myself though.

Linux server running 24/7 should not sleep anyhow.

BandC may gave you the answer. Your BIOS settings may have WOL somewhere.
