Apologies in advance for asking a dim question, but as the new version of Xorg uses Xrandr to adjust screen sizes, is it still possible to use the Xorg.conf (or some other such config file) to setup the display?
I have an ATI HD4870 running two screens, Monitor 1 being a HDMI 22" running at 1680x1050 and Monitor 2 being a 17" VGA running at 1280x1024. Reason I ask is because of a few minor but annoying problems:
1) When I right-click on the title-bar of a window on Monitor 2, the context menu appears on Monitor 1.
2) On-boot, the display defaults to 1280x1024 mirrored output mode, which looks horrible on the 22" - this only happens on GDM, not when logged in
3) I have two panels set up to mimic the Windows taskbar one at the bottom of each monitor, however when I log in, both are piled on top of each other on Monitor 2 and I have to manually drag one over to Monitor 1
Any ideas?
