FireFox stopped working

Hello,
I'm using Fedora 9 i386.
I'm very new to Linux, so I was checking out different things like settings etc and then I discovered that FireFox stopped working. It was working fine a few days before, but now it's starting and the button on the bottom panel shows up and then disappears in a few seconds and nothing happens. What can be wrong? Maybe I disabled some process that FF needs?

Open a terminal/shell/console and run:
# firefox

What output does it give?
Does it show any error?


If you have no settings that you care about in Firefox, run the following:

# mv ~/.mozilla ~/MOZILLA_profile_bkp

Then re-run firefox

Here's what it gives:
Could not find compatible GRE between version 1.9b5 and 1.9b5.

No other errors.

# mv ~/.mozilla ~/MOZILLA_profile_bkp

This doesn't give any output and FF still won't open.

Updating FF to its current version fixed the problem.
