What is npviewer?

My firefox keeps freezing and when I do a force kill on it. I see a window open up called npviewer.bin What is it and can I safely remove it?

if i'm not mistaken npviewer.bin is a process of nspluginwrapper to display flash elements

any idea why it is freezing or could it be something else freezing my firefox?

It only happens when i watch a video online

its definitely npviewer, the thing can get kinda buggy, i know theres been a couple of bugs regarding this issue filed with ubuntu bugzilla, and im sure the same bugs are echoed on other distros.
