install into command line not gui

hi
this is my first go at fedora, i have had a poke at ubuntu for a while and thought i would check out fedora
1.8gig dual core 250hd geforce 6800 dvdrw

anyway it boots up ok and asks me for server login
and then password
i cant remember setting a username along the way
and then i need to somehow automatically get it to boot into the gui
i am pretty useless at command line stuff so far

any help would be greatly appreciated
