will fedora 9 work if i intalled it my computer but put the drive in another computer

Someone i knows harddrive went bad and she cant get on the internet. So installed fedora 9 on a old 40 gig drive i had and shipped it to her. will it work if she puts it in her computer? It tooked me hours to get java and flash installed. i hope she likes it.

will it find her wired internet connection?

I have got away with that one with Fedora 4, the PC's were similar though. Drive placement on the controller was critical though as Grub had to see the same address.
So if you sent her a drive installed as Primary master and she installs it as Primary master HAL may do the rest at start up providing the displays are similar.

thanks. I will find out Wednesday when she gets the drive from ups if it worked. She is most likey going to put windows xp on the drive anyway when she gets copy of it.

Old installs have worked on completly new systems for me in the past, though i always did clean installs soonish after so not sure if there were issues, none in the short periods i used them. It's more likely to work the xp O_o

Its more likely the drive will get messed up in the mail lol
