USB pen drive (8GB) either fails to auto mount or takes too long

I have an OCZ Rally 2 USB 8GB pen drive, if that matters. Using Fedora 9 for some reason the pen drive doesn't auto mount. It does if I have it in the USB port on startup but not afterwards. I've plugged it in and it's been 6-minutes, the LED is flashing and it hasn't mounted still.

I was wandering if someone could help me diagnose the problem.

Thank-you in advance.

Edit: It's just mounted, taking 7 minutes. It's formatted with FAT32 and has one file on it (700MB).

Edit 2: And then I renamed a file on the drive and the LED started flashing again, the icon on the desktop for the pen drive disappeared and it was effectively unmounted again. Argh.

Good to know that I'm not alone in this. However I'd be hesitant to format it to ext3 because I'd want to use it on Windows and Linux computers. Thanks for your help though.
